Photographer's Note
It was our last day in Shanghai. I cannot imagine a photographer who doesn't visit the Pudong area, a state of the art district of modern architecture. Most pictures of " Modern China " are taken at Pudong, where a big array of towers and skyscrapers are located. The jewel in the crown happens to be the famous Jin Mao tower housing the Hyatt Hotel, offices and an observation deck for a bird's eye view of Shanghai. I am not a fan of taking pictures of such panoramic views shot by every visitor behind glass windows . Instead, I tried to get inside the Hyatt Hotel and get some graphic views of it's stunning interior. This picture was taken from the 86th floor and what we see at the bottom is the lobby at the 54th or 55th. The first impression that I got is that I was a mini spider roaming on it's web. It was impossible to use a tripod for this hanging view, this is why I overrated my ISO to 400, and handheld the camera by extending my arms.

Hi izzet,
love this. Yhe lines are giving me a headache, the curves too, the colors are overpowering my eyes and I need a break but guess what, the visual punch is like a Mike Tyson KO. Fantastic!

Very cool graphical piece, Izzet. The downward view along the floors into the hotel lobby is dizzying, and a very strong perspective effect is pulling the viewer's eye into the scene towards the tiny details of life in the lobby. Great shot.

Quite a trip you've had! Quite right, there's must be lots of photos of this, but I expect not so many that present it so well and with such a carefully worked compo as this. Nice one.

Hi Izzet,
excellent graphic. In a first time, I saw a tunnel. But with the note I understand the detail of this excellent view. Impressive picture of this modern China.

Great picture, it's just mad what people end up building to be different. It looks like the building was built just for this picture. Maybe a longer exposition or a higher contrast would have made the fluid lines come forward? Nice shot anyways.

Spectacular shot Izzet. I love such strong perspectives of impressive architecture buildings and in China, I've heard that Shangai is the place for them (I haven't been there...). So graphic and abstract and with a wonderful repetition effect leading us to the lobby downthere (55th floor ?!?!). I really love it!
Friendly regards from my cats,

Hi Izzet, nice to hear from you earlier - I just managed to sneak a lok at this wonderful image before i went out this morning (to transport my daughter and her husband on the first short leg of their journey to Africa -complete with recent training on how to make the best of a DSLR). A beautiful take on this really beautiful and stunning piece of archictecture - just amazing and so imprtant to capture these small traces of the passage of people in the frame - from the thumbnail i thought i was looking down some futuristic tunnel ...but no a futuristic shaft instead - lovely work maestro!
best wishes Kev

Bonjour Izzet,
Bien vu

Hello Izzet,
Wow!! This is a stunning view! I like the circular levels contrasting with the tall, vertical windows in the middle. The symmetry is fabulous and I like the golden color. It is also nice to see some people on the different levels. Great capture!

Ciao Izzet!! I also think that one should absolutely visit Pudong! Everything is so new, so modern! In our towns something is new and something ols, or ... not new! But that Shangahai area is all new!
Your picture is a scene for a science fiction movie! I saw this building from outside, I should go also inside ...

Bonne journee,

Bonjour Izzet,
Best regards.

Hello Izzet,
A nice composition with the super wild angle!
Nice colors and details.
May I ask you some advices about lenses?
I currently have the D200 and 17-35 AFS.
I would like a new objective and I'm considering either the 12-24 or the 70-200 - I know, not the same target!
I still have a F100 which I can use with the 17-35 for wild field and also a 70-300ED with is slow and without VR.
What is your opinion about both lenses?
Best regards,
Didier

Hello Izzet,
I saw this on the home page and had to say wow!! The geometric circles are stunning and a good contrast to the lines running down the middle. Scale is given by seeing the legs of the people a couple of floors down and the colours are vivid to say the least! A fine capture and well done.

Nota bem objetiva e informativa.
