Photographer's Note
The Holy Longevity Monastery is a Buddhist Temple located at the entrance of the Baodingshan site, one of the several places belonging to the Dazu group of carvings.
In the area of Dazu there are 5 sites with an impressive assembly of 50,000 statues carved in the rock, declared as World Heritage Protected Site by UNESCO. I will post some picture of these unique place.
One of the things that impress me more in many buddhist temples is the cloud of smoke created by the burning of incense sticks in front of the main entrance. This gives them an atmosphere of mysticism and spirituality.

I am impressed. Living in asia for as long as I have, I'm really quite dissapointed in myself that I have yet to get some decent shots from inside a Chinese temple...
Guess that will be my mission this weekend.

Muy, pero muy buena composición es inmejorable el efecto de las llamas, el pabilo y el humo, todo en contraste con el rojo intenso y el toque dorado,las letras orientales proveen cierto misticismo.Gracias y Suerte.

Interesante fotografía y más aun unida a su "note". Me gusta la idea del enfoque en las velas rojas y ver ese fondo a través del humo de las mismas. Interesante toma.

The idea of mysticism and spirituality produced by smoke created by the candles is very well captured.
Holy longevity monastery is exactly what's writtern in Chinese on the sign.
One additional interesting observation, what's writtern on the candles means wealth. For obvious reasons, people burnt their offerings not only for spirituality !

Your album has a lot of intresting photographs...I am choosing this one for now because I'm really impressed by this one. The most beautiful IMO is the flickering flames & the smoke. Actually the red of the candles against the black background also enhances the effect. But well seen & brilliantly captured

j'aime beaucoup l'ambiance mystique de cette photo.
Couleurs vives et je sais qu'elles sont réellement comme cela et aussi ces fumées, on voudrait rapprocher son nez de l'écran pour se plonger un peu plus dans cette méditation.
