Genocide in Cambodia
The history of Cambodia lives on but man seems to have learnt nothing. The idea of “Year Zero” …….. A new beginning where all belonged to know one except those with the vision. “The Killing Fields” show that man is still his worst enemy.
I wanted to create a hidden darkness with this image, something that was rough and hard and thought provoking. Look into the eyes; look into the sockets, that could have been you, that could have been your family.

The photograph was heavily cropped from the original, take a look at the URL below. Everything was over or under done, contrast, brightness and sharpening all combined to give that effect. What do you think?

This is a powerful image and your description makes it even moreso. I posted a workshop, seeing what it would look like totally desaturated and stark.
