‘Ta Prohm - Art, architecture and nature’

Most of you will already have seen similar pictures of this temple ruin or may even have been on the site in Angkor.
Still, I like to show some photos of the Ta Prohm Temple. The combination of trees growing out of the ruins, the surrounding forest, the many bas-reliefs and other architectural decorations makes this a special and very picturesque site in Angkor.

The trees you see here are tetrameles nudiflora, large deciduous trees in the dry season (winter).
These trees grow in India, South East Asia and the north of Australia and they make your visit of Ta Prohm an unforgettable event. I do believe that this temple just convinces many people visiting Angkor.

Ta Prohm was built in the Bayon style largely in the late 12th and early 13th centuries.
