Here are more buildings from within the old city of Angkor Thom. These are part of a row of 12 towers making up Prasat Sour Prat which in Khmer translates as "The towers of the tightrope dancers." They were probably built by Indravarman II who died in 1243.
The local title refers to possible acrobatics but it is believed that the towers were actually used for settling dispute.
The towers line one side of a royal square and as with most temples in the region you can see the edge of the jungle that had taken over the site for several centuries.
