Photographer's Note
I am staying in Kolkata for years. For many of us Park street is famous for restaurants, big hotels and night life. But last Sunday I discovered it in a very new way, the historic Park Street. A lot of history and historical architectures are there which are not that famous as other historical places. May be that's the reason behind the negligence in maintaining these ruins. This picture was taken in the palace of the Nawab of Murshidabad, which is in very sorry state. I wish you all visit this palace and smell the history of Kolkata.

Wonderful composition. The lighting and medium add a mood of gloomy mystery. I want to visit this place myself now! I might have lightened the lower right corner and evened out the upper half a bit, but then again the dramatic light is also quite interesting.

Hi sukalyan
i like the mood u have created here. The 2 white spots on the door give the feel of two eyes (of ghosts ??) watching anyone who climbs up or down the stairs. The mood created by choosing to shoot in monochrome with a hint of sepia is the essence of the shot here.
choosing a vertical frame over a horizontal one also gives us a sense of altitude and height.
the image is quite sharp with good DOF. I dont know if u have used a tripod (not mentioned in ur post) but if its a handheld shot then i must say that u have done an awesome job with shutter speed of 1/2.
But i found the overall composition to be slightly tilted 2 the right which is easily correctable in any photoediting software.
overall a good image
