Photographer's Note
Having got up before dawn in order to catch sunrise at Tidal River I got delayed firstly in Yanakie and then at Darby River where the mist was still hanging above the water.
I missed sunrise at Tidal River though...
Darby River is in the Wilsons Promontory National Park. The southernmost point of the Australian mainland, Wilsons Promontory (affectionately known to Victorians as 'the Prom') is arguably the most loved national park in Victoria. Its 130 km coastline is framed by granite headlands, mountains, forests and fern gullies. The park contains the largest coastal wilderness area in Victoria.

Hello Steve, timing can be everything on a shot like this. the composition of this one is very good, with great sharp detail and colour seen on the reeds, but it is the early morning timing of your shot, with the mist on the river creating a surreal look to the reflection of that rock on the still water, that makes this very good shot great!
Thanks, John

Hi Steve.
Great photo, with a stunning reflectionin the water still shrouded in mist. The highlight for me is the sharply defined tips of the rushes/reeds or whatever they're called. And the nice angle of the river bank creating a pleasing diagonal. This photo really captures the early morning light and the atmosphere beautifully. Well done.

Hi Steve,
Very poetic, quite like water colour, impressionistic, well seen.

hi Stephen,
the mix between the mist and the soft light gives a nice atmosphere to the landscape. Well composed, with the 3 elements : the river / the field / the moutain.

hi Steven
I am sure Klaudio will give you a run down of his experience with sunrise shooting in Kuching, when he returns home. We hope to have him again tomorrow morning for another go because it wasnt very promising sunlight today.
But to be able to capture the effect and mood of a mist is itself a good feature to a landscape scenery. Although lack of a strong subject on this flat land, the soft color tones are pleasant to see.
No birds here? [because the dinner last night with daddo had a piece of conversation about a certain bird-man from Melbourne].

Hello Steve
Excellent capture with the mist well caught in the reflection as well. It seems you havent used a tripod, but the image is crisp and sharp.
Thanks for sharing
