Photographer's Note
Ah Prague, my favorite city in the Czech Republic, how could anyone not fall in love with this beauty.
Here we have a view taken on a walk up to the Prague Castle. Along the walk up the hill there was this large staircase off the leading road - i took it as i was curious to see what the view would be. Needless to say i was very impressed :)
On a totally personal note, out of all of my Prague photos sitting in my laptops hard drive, this one is in my top 3 favorites :)
Do you see the tall building WAY in the bg? That building is rated as Pragues ugliest, and voted as Europes 2nd ugliest building!
Stay tuned as i'm going to post a series of that building this week :)
Cheers
Craig

Buongiorno Craig
che splendida vista, molto belli i colori ed i palazzi in apertura, lo spiraglio ci porta fino alla fine della città, con le sue cupole e le sue torri, un bellissimo effetto, sembra di aprire una finestra sulla città dalla nostra casa.
Saluti

Hello Craig,
A superb composition again detailing the fabulous and varied architecture of Prague. I like the placement of the roofs they lead us towards to the tall ungly building and into the city. The collection of towers and spires all bathed in wonderful light is very lovely.
Enjoy the day,
Regards,
Maria

Hello Craig,
A great panorama across the rooftops of Prague with so much to see and take note and all in perfect detail. Very well composed so that the eyes move naturally across the frame from bottom left to top right. The building in the background does rather stand out in stark contrast to its beautiful surroundings. What were the planners thinking of?

Hi Craig,
Yes, I agree - this scene is beautiful and how could anyone not love it? Or, as you say, they might be just a little put off by that rather incongruous erection on the horizon at far right. And what are those three rather ugly white concrete structures we see popping their noses above the lovely red roofs on the left?
But we see what we want to see. And I just love the "verticality" (if that's a word) of the buildings below, their façades in different colours and differing lighting, surmounted by beautiful red tiled roofs and with the green copper-clad domes and clocktower towering above them.
The lighting is superb, the colours beautifully vibrant and the details and sharpness, as always, exquisite. I can really understand how this must be one of your favourite pictures from Prague.
Now I'm looking forward to seeing what you make of that "ugly duckling" in the background - I suspect that we shall all be surprised!
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Bonjour Craig
J'aime beaucoup ce point de vue sur Prague. J'aime le mélange des formes et des couleurs dans ces toits et ces fenêtres. Cela fait beaucoup d'information dans la même image.

Hello Craig,
So which is the number one ugliest building in Europe?
Maybe this tower looks a bit out of place right here. In another environment it would probably do allright. What I like about this picture is the number of different styles of buildings and different colours you managed to squeeze into a very limited area. Sharpness and light superb as always.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Craig
What a wonderful combination of old and new. Great how the diagonal roofs from the foreground to the middle lead the eye towards the eyesore in the background. They are perfectly aligned. The light and colors of the houses in the foreground are very pleasing to. So I think it was well worth the climb up the stairs.
have a good time

Hello Craig,
Photographs are so important to remind you of scenes that would otherwise fade into the mist, after you return home! This has reminded you of how much you enjoyed Prague.
What was immediately noticeable was the wonderful colours that are so evident when you are looking down on them. The terra cotta roofs and the green copper domes play their part much more strongly, in relation to the coloured walls. You have a fine composition with the tall towers leading diagonally across the frame; they are a statement of beauty.
I find it hard to pass an opinion on the tallest structure, in the b/g, without seeing it more closely but I can honestly say that I find the concrete structures to the left a blot on this period scene!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Tu as trouvé un très bon point de vue sur cette belle ville de Prague et réalisé un bon cadrage. La lumière est jolie mais je crois que j'aurais préféré sans ce "truc" moderne en arrière plan, mais ça se discute, question de goût!

This photo in a magnificent way affords an insight into the character of the Czech capital. The dark bridge tower (right) stems from the period when Prague, during the time of Charles IV (German king and king of Bohemia from 1346 to 1378 and, from 1355 to his death in 1378, Holy Roman emperor), was the political and cultural center of a wider region around it stretching as far out as into decisive parts of Italy. It sits at the other (right) shore of the Vltava River, at the end of the AD 1357 Charles Bridge, and is probably the city's most poignant landmark. The church heads just above the rooftops in the foreground have begun replenishing this sight only during the baroque era, i.e., when Europe already began to awaken into the enlightened atmosphere of TODAY.

Hello Craig,
there it is, like an alien, looking strange, not matching with the baroque towers! Here in the northern part of Germany we have some discussions about the wind power plants, which cover hills and shores. Many people don´t like them, some think they have an aesthetic value.
Thanks for sharing!

You always a plus.
I was talking yesterday with Mario.
POV scene with great picture and best managed.
Naturalness in exposure.
Surely some details would have given show.
Your photograph is "naturally without malice."
Do not you love the photo effect, to the effect of "solitary", thanks.
All the best,
