Photographer's Note
Okay, ather reducing the file, the railings on the pier
is not as good as the original file, so I hope that
you will forgive me.
That day was rough weather. Some people were taken
pictures from the beach and in the case taken pictures
from each other.
Taking a good point of view and using a good composition
wasn't difficult for me, even the light management, it
was more the timing.
I want having at least one person sharp on the picture
and some seagull (the seagul were easy: I sang a
birdy-song, so they were sleeping), but I was also
waiting for a suitable wave and of course waiting
for the red cloud that must start on the left corner.
So I took two shots, both were good and I choose for
this one, I hope you will like it.

hi robert,
wow what a fantastic picture. you have composed it very well with the pier stretching out across the frame. the colours and light are superb, while the little splash of red in the cloud in the left corner is magic. the effect you have achieved with the water is exceptional.

Hi Robert,
First thing that I've noticed, it's that deep pinkish patch in the left upper corner. Really striking detail against the bold clouds.
Then I was attracted to the pulling power of those waves, suggesting more than movement, rather force of nature.
It's difficult to critique a photo when you aren't aware about the conditions, but I wonder if by moving your camera a bit to the right and closer to the rock, you would have been able to allow more space for the sky and to avoid placing the horizon straight in the middle.
In certain situation, I don't hesitate to center my horizon either and to "break the rule", if the elements in the frame impose such a decision, so maybe you have your set of considerations. Maybe you want to share your thinking about it.
Anyway, I can't deny the impact your photo had on me, as it is an instant eye-catcher.
Cheers!
André
P.S.: I bet that the couple hanging on the pier took a photo of you...
P.S.2: Another case of wet shoes and pants, up to the knees...

Hi Robert - Your shot is absolutely breathtaking, I don't think I have ever seen a shot which conveys the power of the sea quite so well. I can imagine being pulled by the force of the waves and although the colours are soft and beautiful the shot shows a scene that is quite frightening. Funny, it makes me think of a Tsunami and how small we are compared to nature's power. An excellent piece of work. Well done. Warmest regards Rosemary

Hello robert,
Another very fine picture from you. The slow shutter speed has given a dramatic effect and I feel pulled into the sea. The railings and pier give a centre of interest. The clouds tinged with a fiery red are spectacular. This really is a first class piece of creative seascape photography - great work!.

Hi Robert
Forgive you? What for? THIS is photography!!!
A jewel for the colors, the textures, the greatly mastered composition. What a dramatic atmosphere, and a surrealistic feeling with two mouvements of different music, in the sky and in the water! Yes, a marvellous symphony of the elements!
I am amazed to discover your gallery only now...I must come back again!
Congratulations

Hello Robert,
The exposure time creates a spectacular effect on the surface of the sea. The composition leads a lot of depth in the photo. The sky is spectacular, colors are magnificent. Bravo.

Hi Robert,
I love the combination of the color, it really give a strong contrast and adds dramma to the composition, the foreground almost looks like snow on icy lake being blown by the wind toward the distant sky. The little bit of red adds a touch of warm and contrast very well against the cold gray sky. I love the layer of clouds with different shades of gray, which seem like 3 dimension and in motion. Once again a very special light and beautiful and dramatic sky.

Hi Robert
You have caught the water in motion, running at your feet, legs and more, the sharp pier and the 2 "tourists" and the red impact of the glorious clouds.
For once, the skyline at the half of the picture is not a nonsense.
Well thought and realised.

Dag Robert,
Goed foto werk, bedankt.
Groeten,
John.

Good morning Robert,
fascinating the view of the image with the red on the left of the scene to makes the different.I like the use of the low shutter speed with the foreground waters to looks as the clouds from the sky to come down and to have been spread on the surface of the sea.The railings on the pier adds depth in the image.
Have a good weekend,danos

Hello Robert, Another outstanding image, all class. It reminds me of a Ansel Adams quote I read the other day "Simply look with perceptive eyes at the world about you, and trust to your own reactions and convictions. Ask yourself: "Does this subject move me to feel, think and dream? Can I visualize a print - my own personal statement of what I feel and want to convey" I believe that you have done that here, the result is stunning. Sincere compliments

Hi Robert
its always a joy to view your gallery, i know i'll be viewing a high quality image of some sort.
And this one didn't disappoint me :)
the long exposure certainly gives movement along the bottom, while in contrast the clouds have moved little.
the walkway breaks up the almost identical top/bottom surfaces.
well done!

Hi Robert,
as a beautiful painting. This is what I feel when I look at your photo, because of the magnificent soft tones of the image, by the silky texture of the water due to the long exposure time, and by the reddish clouds on the sky.
The diagonal perspective of the pier provides a great depth to the composition.
An excellent work.
Best regards,

Hello Robert,
You're capturing well this landscape by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see sea of rough weather, long pier and the cloud dyed to sunset. The whole is harmonized beautifully well by poetic touch.
