Photographer's Note
Lanta Island, Krabi, Thailand
I found that it's an interesting candid shot to me when I happened to see this girl on a beach bench. She and her boyfriend, they were reading their books on a warm afternoon.
When this scene came into my sight, I was hesitated to ask them to do my snap shot.
After a conversation with them, hoping they don't mind to let me snap the shot. This german couples allowed me to do the snap shot of his girlfriend while they were reading their book as usual.
I told them that it was a funny visual when I saw his girlfriend holding a book with a child face on the cover. The title is " Schalfes Bruder" which I didn't had any idea of the book. I didn't really know what genre the book is.
Anyway, I did some snap shots of her while she was reading the book and tried not to disturb their privacy as much as I could.
Hope you'll like it.
* Thank you "Oh" the half German and Korean girl and her boyfriend who don't mind when I ask them to do some snap shots. I hope I wouldn't disturb them too much.

This is excellent Keng, very well spotted.
Good tight framing, and even the triangle of bright green background doesn't distract.
Her stripy swimsuit works well here too for some reason; the shot just wouldn't have worked as well if she'd been wearing a leapordskin print or something!

I remember a similar shot, the only difference was the moel was not wearing a bra, and of courshe she had a different book. But the idea worked as well as it did for you.

Great shot, I love the way the face on the cover follows the line of the girls chin.
The composition is so clean and this line is so immersing the position of the girls hand brings you out of the image to see exactly what you are looking at.

This is a great photograph. As mentioned already, it is well composed, has a large element of humour, is well framed, and has a fantastic combination of elements that all work very harmoniously, and best of all, you went through the trouble of developing a relationship with the subject.

I'm glad that she didn't mind after you asked her to take your photo. We should be more like Asian People when we ask to take their pictures. In Thailand they were allways nice and agreed when I asked them to take a pic.

Hi Pongnakorn,
I know the book, it´s the story of a young musical genius, living in the western part of Austria, about 100 years ago. "Schlafes Bruder" means the "brother of sleep", which is "death". It is a very very good but sad book, and although I thought it would not be possible, they made a pretty good movie out of it. Big contrast to the funny comments !

Hello Pongnakorn. One must recognize it envyless: this photo is really original and astonishing. It plays thereby none rolls whether the photo was arranged or not. In this case it is a candic shot. The effect of the photo is impressing, because you arranged the face congruent with the picture on the book. It makes fun real to regard this masterly and humorous photo. Amazing.
