Another photo from the weekend's trip to the Marievale Bird Sanctuary...

Reed Cormorant (Phalacrocorax africanus): A small, black cormorant with pale spotting on the back, and a long, unmarked tail. It habitat is freshwater dams, lakes and rivers. It is silent, except for cakling and hissing at breeding colonies.

Photo taken at 500mm, shooting mode aperture priority, at ISO 200 with exposure compensation of -0.7EV.
