Photographer's Note

Long story short.

I happened to buy a few wallets from the Chouara Tannery in Fes. After consultation with a local at the counter and at the end of the bargaining process a certain price was fixed and bought it thinking i had a good deal.

A day later i bought a Haiti (Moroccan wall hanging) from a store in the medina for which i had to use my credit card, the owner took me to the same counter inside the tannery where i bought the wallets. So i again asked them casually "How much is this wallet" ? - the salesman fixed a price 20% lower than what i had bought !!!!

Even if you trust them at the tannery and think you have a good deal, you are far from it, such was not the case shopping in the other cities and even in Fes Medina, but the Tannery, you have to be very lucky not to be misled.
