Photographer's Note
The main way to see the tanneries of Fes is to go through a shop. As you would expect in a tourist area the owners of some of those shops were very pushy.
For sale in the shops were a range of leather products stacked from floor to ceiling and sometimes hanging from the ceiling. This photo show a small section of a wall of handbags - very colourful but not necessarily high quality (My wife's evaluation). Plenty were however being sold especially in one place to a tour group.

Heureusement que nos épouses, femmes, etc. sont là pour ne pas se laisser piéger par la beauté (faussement apparente) de certains sacs !
Je reconnais volontiers que sans un avis féminin, je n'aurais pas fait la différence.

Today we get to see the finished product. Probably not good quality, but they make a cheap and cheerful gift to take home whilst supporting the local economy. I like the vivid colours and the excellent detailing.

Ce n'est pas le choix qui manque dans le souk. Les marocains travaillent très bien le cuir et les couleurs sont probablement fournies par la tannerie sur les toits.
