Photographer's Note
There is not only the desert in Mauritania... In the south of the country close to Senegal and in edge of the river of the same name, the landscape is even by very green place!
The stoppings built on the river and the irrigation work allowed many cultures: rice, tomatos, market gardenings... the result undoubtedly (still? ) with the height of the hopes and the investments. Indeed one sees many wide without no culture!
One of the consequences (awkward!) of this irrigation work: formations of immense invaded marshy zones of reeds.
One surprising vegetation which takes beautiful colours under the sunset.

Interessantes teintes chaudes, j'aime beaucoup la hauteur de laquelle est prise la photo, peut-être que prise d'un peu plus bas encore, elle aurait produit un effet plus interessant encore.

effectivement, je ne m'attendais pas a ce genre de paysage en Mauritanie, enfin cela dit c'est tres agrable comme composition, simple avec une superbe lumiere.

It seems more the Venice Lagoon or the Camargue or the Okawango Delta...than the desert Mauritania!

en effet ce paysage ne me fait pas penser à l'Afrique au 1e abord.
On pourrait croire à un paysage plus européen.
Belles couleurs naturelles et lumière.

Hi Jean. I like the way you have the high grass in the foreground. Plus the way the light is hitting the grass adds a lot of contrast and visual impact naturally. This place looks like an oasis. Nice one Jean!!

Une photo interessante car rien ici ne pêrmet de la situer en Mauritanie, en fait ca pourrait avoir ete pris au bord de la Dordogne... je te charrie ;-))
En tout cas la lumiere laterale est tres agreable pour frapper ces roseaux et les parer de belles couleurs.

Je ne connais pas cette partie là qui semble plus verte en effet que le nord du pays.

tien tiens c'est la mode la Mauritanie en ce moment!!! je connais cette région près du fleuve sénégal, plus luxuriante que le nord!! très vert et des légumes, mais aussi des moustiques!! j'aime beaucoup les contraste ente le vert, et le bleu de l'eau, merci

C'est effectivement un visage de la Mauritanie méconnu, il y a peu de photos qui montrent autre chose que le desert.
La photo est vraiment très réussie, l'éclairage sur les herbes magnifique, bonne profondeur et cadrage.

This photo is in such a contrast to the other desert scenes from the country which you showed. I would never guess this is the same region.
I suppose it is always nice to visit places which offer some diversity in landscapes.
