Photographer's Note
Taken on the outskirts of Timbuktu. A chance meeting an invitation to tea with a Tuareg family.
Smokin' ...before ...well, during, and after the tea. A handmade pipe. Pull a camel skin pouch out from underneath the robes. Get a pinch of tobacco. Light and puff. I gotta say, it really suited our host, shown here and really added to giving him an air of being "master" of this family (for lack of better wording). This man was confident, regal, honest and yet extremely nice, hospitable and tried to make us comfortable in any way possible. A good guy.
...and if you ver had Tuareg tea before, smoking is probably the best way to kill the taste. :o)
Here are a couple more shots of the meeting and a few shots of Mali.

John: I like the details and off-compo of your shot. Fine color and sharpness and, of course, perfectly relevent for TE material... c

Hi John,
A great close up portrait so we can see all the fine details. I love the cigarette in the metal pipe.

salut John
un bien beau portrait posé d'une grande netteté,
une très belle teinte de peau à la texture parfaitement rendue.
L'optique "ED" montre bien toute sa valeur .Amitiés HC
