In a lost little village near Niger river. Did you have seen the picture of Mali with the little island with a tree and a great cloudy sky ?... Now you can see who lives there,...well, here we can see the "dyplomatic reception"...very friendly, with great smiles.
I like this picture because there are something else that smiles,...good remembers. It's important to keep good remembers.

Hi Javier..Sure a great shot..dunno if you intentionally timed it but the expression of the two kids at the back on the right are ones never seen before..they are such powerful expressions..deep in emotion..a significan contrast to the ones in front of them..
They are facing the same lenses..just a few inches apart and you can tell they have a different conscience..did you realize this.
I THINK THE REALITY IS INDEED THE SECOND CHILD AT THE BACK WITH A PALE EXPRESSION..THAT IS AFRICA..THAT IS MALI..HE SHOULD HAVE A SMLILE TOO..HE HAS SEEN ENOUGH.
This is an artwork..tfs

I assume she is a missionary or a teacher but I like this shot. The kids look very colourful and the lady looks very subdued both in her clothing and where she is standing.

Hola Javier! No soy muy amiga de retratos, pero me gusta este retrato colectivo. Quizá sea por lo completo que es... Tu amiga tiene una sonrisa encantadora como testigo de una escena bonita; ha sido muy buena idea incluirla para equilibrar, contrastar y darle más profundidad a la foto. Los niños (que son para comérselos) reflejan cada uno su personalidad, desde los tres alegres de la derecha, hasta el travieso de la izquierda, pasando por el chulito del bañador rojo. Pero la cara del niño de atrás es pura tristeza. Supongo que esta foto refleja bien los contrastes de Mali, sus diferentes caras, y quizá por eso me gusta. Además lo has redondeado dejándonos entrever el ambiente que rodea a los niños.
Muy buena idea, y muy bien realizada. Quizá estaría bien cortar al niño que aparece a la derecha de todo y quedarnos en la risueña.
No se nota que está escaneada, por cierto.
Ya ves que no es sólo un recuerdo sentimental: la foto es muy buena. Enhorabuena!

Bona nit company,
aquesta fotografia em provoca molts sentiments, records, moments viscuts...apart dels sentiments purament artístics de la fotografia com el contrast aconseguit entre els nens i la noia, els dolços somnriures d'aquests nens, en definitiva molt bona composició.
Et felicito Xavier perquè aquest petit instant de felicitat-complicitat que evidencia la fotografia també m'ha fet recordar i reviure molt bons records plegats. Estic d'acord amb tu, hem de conservar i mimar els bons records, i tant!!

Really nice. The presence of the girl actually does not disturb the picture. It only turns it from a documentary picture to a travellog picture. As you say, a nice remember of the travel.
