Photographer's Note

This is my third photo from Praia da Varandinha. This time I climbed to the top of the cliffs to enjoy the view from above. The entrance to the cave from the previous photo is probably nearly under my feet now.

As Jorge confirmed, in Portuguese “varandinha” means a little “varanda”. The English word “veranda” does originate from Portuguese varanda. Eventually in English the word describes “a roofed platform along the outside of a house, level with the ground floor”.
