Hello Bev, I do not think that the Dan Brown book had such an impact. Piazza Navona is a very popular place, always was. For me, it is the most beautiful square in Rome, I knew it already 40 years ago :). But the tourists' invasion is unbearable. I have seen a film on TV about the problems of Venice, Barcelona and Dubrovnik, the inhabitants want to live normally. Rome is a big city but in the centre is the same problem.
excellent view of the church and the obelisk. There are some amusing stories about the rivalry of Bernini and Borromini. Probably just urban legends. Wonderful view. Fantastic colours and sharpness.
You are right, the hole in the Pantheon dome is the best example of Oculus.

iI was not expecting so many tourists because we were there in autumn, but the weather was exceptionally good! Our daughter-in-law is on the mend. I don’t think we were told too much so that we wouldn’t worry, but she is very much better now, thank goodness. keep safe, this is a terrible virus, Bev 😊
