Great SnapRJW 2012-12-05 4:57

Hello Neil - I think you have captured the atmosphere of the swamp forest very well, I can imagine all manner of frogs, toads and bugs lurking here. I love the tree trunks which are clothed in moss and lichens and you have included a beautiful tree fern in your composition. The dark waters look to be full of tannins leached from the decaying leaf mould. A super nature shot. TFS and warm regards Rosemary

Default To SnapRJW: Swamp Forest, Ship Creek

Hi Rosemary, many thanks for your commemts. Sorry I have to disappoint you however. There are no frogs, toads & very few, if any bugs in there. That is the starnge thing about the NZ rainforest, there is really nothing in the dark tannin waters. The only thing I have seen here on my many trips has been a couple of eels & that was about 15 years ago! All the interest is in the vegetation which is incredibly varied. Cheers, Neil
