Hello Urs -

This is a nice environmental portrait but there are a couple of distracting elements IMO. Your subject looks like the "deer in the headlights.." here and is a bit unnatural. The flash appears to be a bit strong and is almost obliterating the subjects eyes. Dial back the flash a bit (-1EV) to add fill light and minimize the shadows but not over power the scene.

Thanks for your critique and advise. The picture was taken in the analogue days. Moreover it is an action shot. In general you are absolutely right about the flash power, but when it comes to action photography - what I do most of the time - I have to shot quickly and then the situation is gone. But I will remember your advise, when time permits and dial back the flash a bit. Thanks - or what even is better flash indirectly when possible.
