Great noborders 2009-01-02 13:24

Hi Ken, the perspective looks very nice, I like the B/W but I regret that the woman's face is not more expressive - if you had waited a few seconds more, maybe would she have had an interrogating face directed at you / us ? ... With the risk of course that she would protest ! - I understand the dilema...

Anyway : a nice image from Paris !
Best regards,

Default To noborders: Looking at the camera

Hi Cath---I agree with you in part. It would be nice if she were looking at the camera. But I wouldn't want too much expression in her face, protest or otherwise. My preference is usually to take photos in which it doesn't look like anyone was there to take the shot---things are happening just as if there were no photographer. It's just my taste, we all have our irrational biases. You do extremely well with the other type, in which people are clearly responding to you.

I think the image would suffer if she were much closer to the camera---I wouldn't be able to place her in context. So there was no chance to wait for a different expression.

Thanks for your comment! Regards, Ken.
