Hi Jamie,
I can see you went for the gradual filter here. I would go for the grey too, but not gradual as you can see its work especially on the upper-left rock. That shadow doesn't work here well.
I like your idea and I imagine your work here.

Default To Gierlinski: Filter line

Hi Michal

Most of the darkening that you can see is actually the transition of chalk into dark sandstone, even without a filter there is a darkening of that part of the rock and then on top of that are some dead plants that are very dark brown.
Indeed the filter does make it slightly worse but only very slightly. :-)
