Is there even a Festival of Rice in Texas? Really nice to find out! I agree with the critique written above mine about reading more than just one story in your today post!
But referring to the main one, the crop-dusting, I consider this image beeing very illustrative. I'm pleased that you encountered the crop duster at work, in order to achieve your rice agriculture theme and, also to give us the chance to "witness" a part of the "course" rice follows until it ends up nourishing us.

Hi Nicol:
Yes, there will be two of 'em:
The 37th Annual Texas Rice Festival will take place in Winnie, east of Houston from Wednesday, Oct 4, 2006 through Sunday Oct, 8, 2006. In the same period, weekend of Oct 7 & 8, The annual Katy Rice Harvest Festival will be celebrated in west of Houston.
