Great alekpet 2006-04-07 4:29

Hi Kev.
It's not so often you offer such a night time view.
Your title brings a lot of curiocity and attention, but the only connection I find with the title possibly is that it was so hard to balance the light right in a technical sense.
Picture is so sharp and even the water so calm which suggest that you choose shorter exposure and bigger ISO and I like this style in this particular shot.

Regards and have a nice weekend, Aleks

Default To alekpet: Hi Alek - The Hard explained

Yes it was a short exposure - hand held with a high ISO - the title comes from the area it's called 'The Hard' - it's an English sea term I guess originally meaning the edge or dock - the dictionary says - a sloping roadway across a foreshore - this roughly describes the area I'm standing on!

best wishes Kev

Thanks for the explanation.
I lived the whole of my life far from any sea and never has been to the English sea or to England, for that matter.
It's a play with words too, here.

take care, Aleks
