Hello Kasia,
I've been waiting for a second WS but it doesn't seem to be coming. The umbrella signals a mild temperature that would have disappointed you in northern Sweden in December, but the WS indicates a perfect snowfall. Is it just the natural light of winter that makes the photo look monochrome and the day dull? The flash brings out colours in a marvellous way. Did you hire that person to walk ahead of you, or did you actually see someone by coincidence in this forest road? I like the blurred figure and I was a bit surprised to actually find some colours among the trees. But weren't you afraid of wild animals? There might have been bears and wolves here.
They are enjoyable pictures anyway, and I wish you a happy new year, at least one better than shitty '20 and '21.

I must say - I didn't think about bears and wolves. I was a few steps from my car which made me feel safe (a feeling probably totally unjustified!). On the other hand, I was dead scared when I took the photo I posted with New Year's wishes last year (https://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Eu...oto1591287.htm). I had to walk for the whole 10 minutes, in pitch dark, along the road but through the forest, from the place where I parked the car as there was nowhere to park near that house! But that's the kind of thing I do, I'm scared but I still go ahead (do you remember my nighttime adventures in Sost in Pakistan??). There is no second WS, I've broken my own rules here. ;-) It was the natural grey light around sunset time. The person with the umbrella is myself, taking my own photos while walking, with the camera resting on a tripod. I wish you a happy new year too. For me it's unlikely to be any better than the last two because of family problems but let's hope I still can travel from time to time!

Hello Kasia,
Ha ha, so you did the "Nagorno Karabakh trick" again! (It was N-K, wasn't it?) I must say I found it unlikely that a local in Hälsingland would ever use an umbrella as protection against snow. Kind regards, Gert

Yes, I think N-K was the first place where I had the idea to pose for my own photo.
I thought the umbrella would look good in the shot rather than for protection. :-) Have a nice weekend Kasia
