Great nwoehnl 2006-10-25 15:53

Hello Sophie, I hope you are doing fine. Great use of horizontal layering in this one, and a beautiful mood conveyed by the subtle reflections of the orange evening sun on the water. What really "makes" this one for me is the triangle formed by the Tombelaine rock and the two beachside walkers (I wish the one at the right were walking towards the middle ;). Well observed and beautifully crafted.

Default To nwoehnl: Walkers

Hello Norbert, good to hear from you! I'm doing well (although very busy) and I hope it's the same for you.

I see what you mean about the worker on the right walking towards the middle. However, I quite like the fact that they walk in the same direction, each at an edge of the picture. It makes me feel as if it was the same man, and I'm looking at a movie, I really like the dynamism it gives to this picture which is otherwise very still.

I'm glad you enjoyed this picture, it's one of my personal favorite of the pictures I took this year.

Take care,

Hi Sophie -

now that you mention it, I quite like the "movie" thought with the silhouettes moving towards the right.

Yes, I think I can see why this is one of your 2006 favorites ;)

I'm doing okay. Very busy as well, but with the prospect of returning to Japan soon (Nov 11) for another trip.

Take care -
