Ann, thank you very much for your kind words. It's always a big pleasure and a privilege to read comments written by people who actually visited the places in question. Sossusvlei was the most fascinating place in Namibia for me, and surely a paradise for photographers.

We rented a van and made 4000 km by ourselves. It was a fascinating experience. We were stunned every day by the beauty of the landscapes of Namibia.

As for the picture: I think the increase of contrast helped the saturation, but it is always possible to find different colours and textures in this desert, anyway.
