Hello Brenda,
I remember you told me how you experienced that day and the difficulties you had getting back home.
Our news broadcast this evening also looked back at the events of exactly twenty years ago.
But for a New Yorker, it must have all been really terrible. Not only that day, but also the days and weeks following.
Our news report ended with the statement that the terrorists did not defeat NYC. On the contrary. I experienced the latter during my visit in 2019.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Paul,
Thanks for your critique. The days and weeks following September 11th were very surreal. Everything stopped and time seemed to stand still. I remember how I stayed at home for a week afterwards, watching the news all day on the one television channel that was able to broadcast. (tv transmissions used to come from one of the Twin Towers, so they were all cut off for some time) The city was covered with flyers of the people who were missing, and were later found to have died in the towers. A feeling of sadness hung in the air for a long time... I hope you're doing well. Take care, Brenda |
