Hello Jasmine,
On the death masks I have seen people have really looked dead, with closed eyes. I have no idea who this person is supposed to be, but he looks more anxious than dead. No matter what, you have taken a good photo. The darkness surrounding the face and hands has a rather dramatic effect. Whether dead or alive he doesn't seem to be quite at ease.
