Hello Jorge,
This is an interesting piece of history, which I am pleased you could relate.
Had I seen it undescribed, I would never have imagined it as a palace. It is certainly large but appears perhaps, like a military building. As a far away Portuguese territory, maybe finances were concentrated on larger areas.

Goiás was one of the most poor and remote provinces of the empire, nobody would want to invade it , it lost its gold fast and it had few inhabitants. the simplicity of its architecture is evident and caused by this poverty and distance of european civilization. take care jorge |
