Thanks Gert for your interest. There are people who have a Caucasian appearance but who can trace their ancestry to particular tribes and regions of Australia. The dilution of Aboriginal genes is due to past acts of genocide which included shooting trips by whites, poisoning of water sources and incarceration and of course violation of Aboriginal women.
The people who have lost the links with their past, language and customs are like the American First Nations, trying to revive these things and are awakening their sense of who they are.

In the south of this continent the native people are of mixed blood and some are fair and blue eyed, the more inhospitable the land(deserts for example), the Aboriginal genes are less diluted as the whites did not desire to live there.
