Great worldcitizen 2011-04-22 20:41

Hello Claudia,
These patterns are definitely interesting. I was looking at them for a while! :-) I wonder why these types of patterns appear, and why there are two distinctive ones here. I have never seen similar ones on the beaches here in NY. Your photo is simple, but artistic. I like the way you filled the frame.

Default To worldcitizen: oar...

Regarding "the oar on the side" being distracting, I agree with you. It should be there. The reasoning is the one I gave with the National Cathedral Image, "View from the Gazebo." I explained, "a shaft of light is seen illuminating the lower left of the wooden frame that can be easily eliminated. But good art requires an ďunsettling factor,Ē something that causes a little bit of annoyance or distraction. That is precisely the reason I left it in the picture. But it is all open to debate.

Many thanks Brenda.
