Hello Bert,
Took me a while to comprehend what the festival was about. Than, recall a book I read long ago about prisoners, mostly Gypsies and slaves who ran those flotilla's back in ancient times.
Great and unusual capture in your gallery, bravo.

Hi Ike, We hadn't really read up on the' 'semana santa' and were really supried by the intensity of the ritual of the 'atoment (and penitence) for sins' (the core values of the costaleros). I understand your visual association! Bert.
