Great Royaldevon 2020-08-14 7:49

Hello Gert,

Your slides have scanned well.
You are more skilled, with practice, and probably have improved equipment.

This market is unlike the others.
The floor is wet and muddy, so the stall holders are not seated on the floor in a friendly, unintimidating way. Also, the goods for sale look more commercial, than home grown. We can also see lots of vehicles, not so common in the previous markets.
However, as always, the market looks busy, with homemade stalls. You have shown us this in a fine, vertical format.

I wonder if the garbage collectors thought you were recording their work rate for a time and motion study! Strong unions used to respond angrily to such official behaviour!

The wealthy area of Lagos does look very different! It's like many cities where the differences between the rich and the poor are vast!

What a shock you found, exiting your hotel in the evening! It's almost like a daytime culture and a nighttime culture! It's a good job you were alert to the changes or things might have got nasty! Were you able to get a decent meal in your hotel?

Such interesting notes and photographs!

My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Default To Royaldevon: beer

Thank you Bev,
Did I get a decent meal at the hotel? Probably not, but my vague memory tells me I could have a sandwich and a beer in the bar. That was quite enough, considering the alternative of being robbed in the street.
Kind regards,
Gert
