Great holmertz 2019-01-08 3:07

Hello Elvira,
My first reaction was that this photo doesn't have your usual perfect sharpness. I changed my mind when I saw the year it was taken. Who am I to complain of slightly lacking sharpness in scanned old slides? It's an amusing photo and a document of a kind of life probably no longer seen in our part of the world. Is the man with the hat making faces at you, or is it just a funny coincidence? And do Dutch farmers still wear wooden clogs?
Best regards,
Gert

Default To holmertz: making faces

Hello Gert,
I presume I have seen the photo last time 1978, when I put it in a box, tagged with date and place, and then only recently when I scanned it. May be the man did it because he noticed me, but I don't remember.
The second thing I don't know, is wether the farmers in the Netherlands still wear clogs. I have been very often there in the last 15 years, mostly in the province of Zuid Holland, but I haven't met any farmers, except in open air museums. But this is a question we could ask alvaraalto (Rob) or Tue.
Have a nice day,
Elvira
