An unusual shot with a most interesting write up. Since you are still with us I assume the story is more fiction than fact. What is causing the halo?

Hello,
A glory (or halo if you like) is an optical phenomenon produced by light backscattered towards its source by a cloud of uniformly-sized water droplets. It is very similar to rainbow phenomenon. That's why glory has multiple coloured rings. It is really incredible phenomenon while watching it. Thank you very much for your comment. I'm glad you like it. Have a nice weekend Kinga
