Dear Peter,
It is extraordinary that you can drive 2 1/2 hours from Sydney and see this sort of rugged wilderness, so closely evoking images of the Grand Canyon. The crisp atmospheric conditions and the bright sun have collaborated to reveal the vibrant colors of the rocks and vegetation. Another wonderful aspect of this photo is that you've posted the day you shot it. It's fresh and warm like a new baguette pulled out the baker's oven. Can that distant ridge be part of a circular crater, the relic of a collision in the distant past with an immense meteorite?
Peter, I am sending you an email separately.

Dear Bulent,
Thank you for your comment, and as always, each of your comments is accompanied with a thought provoking moment. I'm not sure about the Geology of the Blue Mountains or the history of the formation, but I'm on the case and will report back to you. Lovely to hear from you. Best wishes Peter |
