Default To phwall: Inca buildings

From what our guide told us, the Queshua people under the Inca's rule built cities one at a time, usually in 10-20 years. Each was built to handle a specific amount of people, and when overcrowding became a problem they just found another mountain to build another city, all planned and built in one shot by an army of workers.
Machu Picchu happened to be under construction when Pizarro captured Cuzco, so the work was abandonned suddently on this most recent and magnificent place. A city block is actually still a quarry there, giving us many hints on the construction methods used by a people that did not know the wheel or metal tools, but still managed to cut stones.
