Great PaulVDV 2021-10-05 5:10

Hello Beverley,
In the pictures from a little further away you might think that it is a real owl. Obviously people know they're in the Sculpture Park.
In documentaries I always find owls beautiful and interesting birds. With their round, flattened face with large forward-facing eyes and their head that is very moveable, they are so different from other birds.
However, I've never seen one in real life.
Despite the fact that the location lets little light through, your photos are very clear and sharp.
Best regards, Paul

Default To PaulVDV: Barn Owls

Thank you for your thoughtful critique, Paul.

There are places near where I live which look after rescued owls and bring them out to shows, and sometimes to schools, to emphasise the plight of owls generally. They are always very popular, particularly with children.

Sadly, because of Covid, we haven't had an agricultural show for over two years but there is a very keen photographer, who goes out near the moors, in the evening, and posts stunning photographs of barn owls in flight, on FB.

I do have a stone barn owl in my garden.
Maybe I will post that one day!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
