Picture Quality

Hi there,

Recently, I have noticed that there are differences between my original pictures and the uploaded ones. In another words, the pictures after uploading, the sharpness and clarity are decreased, some less some more.

What should I do to improve the picture quality? Sharpen them more?

The picture quality is not as crisp when viewed http://www.trekearth.com/viewphotos.php?l=3&p=1485952 as it is when viewed here on the old beta site http://beta.trekearth.com/viewphotos.php?l=3&p=1485952.

I don't really understand why there is a difference but it's something to do with the resizing on the 'normal' site.

Have a look and see if the beta site looks better to you.

Hi Rosemary,

The second picture (on the beta site) is much much better. It is close to what I have on my computer.

I think the picture file is compressed. So the fine details are losing.

Update

I reduced the picture's size and the image quality does improved.

I tried to reduce further more and deleted posted picture.

The system won't let me post another one at the same day.

Oh well, I wait until next time.
