Hello Nikos.
Thank you for your message. The wooden wall on the hearth. The reason why this is set up. It obstructs of heat-radiation to the upper floor. Unfortunately, I don't know the material of this wooden wall. However, I think the Japan cedar (Sugi) or the Japanese cypress (Hinoki) to be used perhaps. Regards, Takahiro
