Thanks for your comments Ari!
Kardamili was indeed so beautiful - I will post another imager later on, from a painting found in the same museum, featuring Kardamili under threat!That's where I read that the tower was built in order to protect the locals in cases of possible threats!
I'm glad that, as you say, Cardamili survived through such threats, and managed to maintain its Freedom!:)

Do post it by all means. As with all places in Mani the villages were higher in the mountains and not on the seashore as most houses nowadays are. It was a measure for protection just in case. Also by building higher they always had men to watch all the paths.

None of the buildings or walls of this complex is more than 350 years old though, the oldest being the beautiful church. As you can see from the buildings the owner was very powerful.
