This is a pretty effective shot Ian. I really like how the city is positioned between the peaks (kharsts?) and the background adds in that it is attractive, yet doesn't draw attention away from what is closer to us. The problems with this shot are primarily equipment related I think. A wider lens would be nice here, and I think the answer to the sky issue is not so much to do with the camera, but what is called for here is some sort of graduated filter, either neutral density or perhaps a grad blue would work as well. The Kodak really is a clunker. There is no practical way to put any filters on it, not even a UV to protect the lens.
