Great RhodieIke 2014-03-19 23:40

Hi Harriet
Splendid Pov, on to this peaceful meandering river.
Super natural colours, well managed.

Interesting to read in your note you call the area Anglia, as I live in the region of East Anglia Suffolk UK.

Cheers, Iain.

Default To RhodieIke: Anglia

Hello Iain,
thank you for your kind words. You and I have something in common. Angeln, also known as Anglia (German: Angeln, Latin: Anglia), is a small region in Southern Schleswig. Angeln has a significance far beyond its current small area and country terrain, in that it is believed to have been the original home of the Angles, Germanic immigrants to central and northern England, and East Anglia. This migration led to their new homeland being named after them, from which the name "England" derives. Both England and the English language, thus, ultimately derive their names from the Angles and Angeln. (Source: Wikipedia).
Warm regards
