To jbemmels: Ta!

I loved this photo when I first took it and posted it but since gone lukewarm on it. My current opinion echoes yours - I love the sky but the bottom I find boring now. I agree about the path and the...

To ben4321: response

Hi, tanks for the critique.

It's interesting to compare yours to the previous one. You liked the sky, he wanted less of it. I couldn't move the horizon line, I was on the ferry at the time!! I...

To ribeiroantonio: Path

Yes I agree with you, I'm not happy with the path there, I wish I had left it out completely but I have to admit I didn't notice it in the frame when shooting :-(

To bracasha75: How about a critique

How about actually making a critique instead of just fishing for smileys. Your post is against the guidelines and should be deleted.

To lotis: Thanks

Hey thanks, this photo was taken right at the start of my photographic "career" and was I taking it today, I would probably have followed the suggestions you make.

Re: To arvinnino: Sensible

Yeah but Robbie never gave sensible or constructive critiques... he just said "nice photo, 2 points" and people were stupid and shallow enough to say the same thing in return.

To giuseppe24: Winter?

It was shot in June!! It just looks like winter because his colour mix has made greens look like whites!

To Davids: Statues & notes

Thanks man, a really good critique.

That's the other thing that irks me here from time to time. People don't even read the notes, they just click useful for their bum chums' notes and give those...

Re: Resizing photos - "resizing for the web"...

Your english is great!

I still don't think you grasped my point though. DPI is irrelevant on the web. It's the resolution and size of your monitor that determines the size of the image.

Like, I...

Re: bad joke...

No, just this once.

I was in a bad mood. I was proud of the photo, well actually my PP work on it, so was grumpy that no one else seemed to like it.

Now I recognise it's just kind of boring...

Really? I think it is necessary to give some reference to the rest of the shot. Interesting point though. Thanks!

To Luko: Playa Del Coco

Hi Luko. Always a pleasure to get a critique from you.

Playa Del Coco is on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, right up near the Nicaraguan border an hour's bus ride from Liberia (craziest bus...

Re: To fijiphil: Lens Blur

I didn't really mean it looked like two photos pasted together - it doesn't. What I meant was, I couldn't relate the background to the foreground at all and I thought that detracted from the photo.

To emka: Moai

Hi, I spent the night in Hanga Roa but I hired a jeep for 24 hours, one afternoon and one morning. I went to Rano Raraku in the afternoon and decided it was the place I wanted to watch the sunrise...

Re: To capthaddock: Grapes of Wrath

Just checkout out your workshop, and no sour grapes or nothing, I don't think much of it. Maybe if you were posting it as a main post you would tidy it up a bit. Dunno.

To capthaddock: Grapes of Wrath

All I do is whine? Man, have you been speaking to my girlfriend??

Don't judge me, judge the photo. You mentioned enough positive points to justify a dark greeny there.

But I guess one reaps...

Re: Not one freaking critique

Dammit, I try and drum up publicity for my shot, and somebody else hijacks the thread and gets all the points.

Must say though, it IS a very good photo...

To asajernigan: Dark colours

Thanks for your critique, Asa.

I think I have developed a preference for strong contrast and thus somewhat darker colours, I guess it's a Geschmacksache as they say in Germany.

Re: Resizing photos - what you know (and maybe what you didn

dpi is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT when considering how much information is being potentially given away here on TE (or anywhere on the web for that matter).

Think about it guys, 800 pixels are 800...
