I have to agree with the last commentor. A person should only get as close to a wild animal as to not alter it's behaviour. I think the angle of the shot makes the man here appear closer than he actually is, but it's still much much too close. It's obvious the seal is distressed by him being there.
Nice photo but this kind of stuff causes problems for everyone later on.

Wonderful photo. You've captured the backbreaking effort nicely. I recently climbed Hua Shan and was amazed at how much these guys carry and even more so at how old a lot of them were.

It's a nice photo but jesus these close up voyeur shots make me frightened to do anything in public. I mean this is a pretty intrusive capture of a very intimate and private moment.

I really like your photos Alana. The only negative comment I would give is that as is often the case with HDR shots, those nasty halos appear quite often. Likewise the chromatic aberrations around the edges of objects. These can be avoided though, by creating several HDR shots with differing light settings then using them as layers in Photoshop to create even tones. It's a little more work but the results are seamless. I'm certainly not perfect at it but am finding the extra effort makes a big difference.

Really nice colours. As with many HDR images though, there's a bit of an unsightly halo. Here, it's around the castle. If you have Photoshop, it sometimes pays to make a couple of HDR photos with different settings, open them in Photoshop and use layers to blend them together and get rid of the nasty bits that HDR programmes leave behind.
Otherwise really beautiful though. Well done.
