Hi Figen,

You are up there with the best on this site. This is a remarkable photograph. I do not feel that your post-processing does it justice, but this does not take anything away from the image for me.

Absolutely wonderful.. It is just perfect. Are these residential buildings? Ir are they offices? Would be very interesting to see this at different times of the day. I am also keen to see how good the detail is if you zoom into one of the windows..would you mind posting one to teh workshop for me please?

Thank you for your comment earlier. You have inspired me to write something back..

I just read your note that you are trying to make wider frames... I feel that this is an excellent attempt. The lines and angles work very well - they are all converging to the same point and it makes the image strong. You have some wide-angle distortion going on..but I think it adds to the effect of the lines. I would be very happy with this.

Hi Mark,

Lovely to see you post on here after so long... a lovely portrait - very sensitive. Cant help noticing how nice this is technically too. The focus seems to be just where it needs to be, without being too sharp. The overall details of hair, clothing and necklace is subtle, yet clear..

Thank you very much for all of your thoughts on my work. I appreciate the time which you took to look at them.

Ok, I took a look through your photographs and from the words which you wrote to me, I can see that you are here to learn. Therefore, I will go ahead and tell you exactly what I feel whilst looking through your gallery.

This is the one which stood out the most. As Brenden noted, it is difficult to fully appreciate your vision around this image, as it is mostly someone else's work. What I think is quite nice is the potential story behind what you are showing. I must admit though, it falls just a little short, as did need to read your note before fully understanding what it was you were trying to tell me. The title is a little misguiding, as I was expecting a footprint. The shadow of a man, well.. doesn't look quite like a shadow of a man.. at least not enough to make me really stop and *think* about the issue which you are presenting to me.

The storytelling is a strength here..

I really like your choice of post processing here - There is something really nice about the way the two girls are so prominent in the scene. I like the inclusion of the (ever present) roadworks plastic things.. I think it is a little empty on that side even though you have that couple walking through the area.

Thank you for bringing this picture to my attention through the "Furachan" discussion. Its certainly a beautiful picture - whether it fits into the bracket of "street photography".. who knows. Its all subjective, every bit of it. Who am I to tell you whether this is a street photograph or anything else for that matter. I can tell you what I see, or what I feel you think it is.. or even what I would like it to be. Other than this, it is partly my imagination which makes it what it is - after all, I am only seeing a selective view of what you saw. Keep thinking how you are thinking.. works for me.

I see you are continuing on your black and white journey, searching for the rays of light.. This could easily pass as a Trente Park(sp?) image. Its bustling with energy.. very nice indeed..

I think Luis's workshop adds the required dramatic effect. Considering the subject, it somehow draws my attention to the people straight away, instead of to the writing, which by the way is nice. Blue and yellow - always a good combination. The slight vignetting is also perfect, just closing everything in.

I was just admiring the tones and texture of this photograph - they are just beautiful. Adds so much to the atmosphere - kind of cold actually, but really nice and inviting nevertheless.

I think your older photographs have a certain feel about them - quite different to more recent ones, which are somehow "cleaner".. not sure if I am making any sense..

I think this is really lovely, but I would really like to an indication that you are on the train... This might have given a little more strength to the image, and you could have chosen a different title, leaving more for the imagination.

I think this would have worked equally well with the focus on the lady. Lovely autumnal colours.

Sorry for the delayed reply. As promised, I'm back.. yes.. thats me on Lightstalkers, though I must admit I am not making the best use out of that website. I tried looking for you on there, to no avail. Anyhow, back to the picture -I would not change a single thing. The focus is superb.. the sweeping peacock feathers add a beautiful touch.
