Excellent note, you seem to know a lot about your subject. But I have to make a few comments on the photograph. The colors are fantastic, the sharpness is tack on, and the composition fits in. But, when the focus of the portrait is the tantrics face, the designs dominating the majority of the photograph are seriously distracting. I think the photo would benefit greatly from a tighter crop around the Tantrics face or shifting the frame left to leave out the design. I will say that how you handled the design is perfect, cropped just around the corner, but I feel it is an unecessary element. Still a great shot.

I almost feel as if this scene is a painting. Its so quaint and perfect. The early morning light, the framing plants, the broken down fence beside the pathway and the background all give it this quality. Its excellent. I wish I had an eye and patience for such things.

you have a real eye for things, and those palm trees in the background are no exception. The rest of the photo fits in well, but its the palms that make the photograph for me. I'm going to add this as a favorite. I dont do this lightly. Well done.

Excellent use of a filter. Its good to see somebody using filters rather then photoshop to get an effect. The shot is great for many obvious reasons. But I like best the placement of the horizon, just off center. Well done.

great expression. DOF is good but the water in the background destracts me a little bit. Still a well caught image.

I almost have to laugh at this shot. Perhaps for a person who isnt in afghanistan at the moment, or hasnt seen this kind thing as often as we have, it might be tragic. But for some reason, its hilarious to me. The expression on the kids face is what does it. He looks so careless. He probably is. I agree that the camera position could be raised to make him unobstructed, but the effect is still there. great shot.
