Ignore the grumps in life, and snap away !. So long as you are not trespassing or in other ways infringing on someones privacy. But to snap an obvious head-turner subject such as this, I say ignore the grump.....! Its always interesting to learn of the story behind the image, or the making of an image. B

Caleb, Your ability to interact with the locals and gain their trust and permission is what continually amazes and impresses me..... Possibly more so than the vivid colors, perfect focus and careful framing of your photographs. Do share some tips on this particular, invaluable skill. Brian

Andy, This is a great idea. To give back something to the locals. Without your gift, this girl, and others like her, probably would not have any photos of themselves. I have done something of the same in Bac Ha, and it is a great way to make friends and get yourself invited to tea or rice wine shots.....(depending on the crowd!)...and of-course to get more photos of smiles! In my opinion, the most successful of the Padaung women series. Contains all the elements of a good Portrait. Perfect focus for 2.8 ! Congrats. Brian

I find this to be a powerful image and Im surprized it has 500 views with no comments. It seems this photo was largely over-looked by the TE crowd. Its a good image cause it gives that "being there" feeling..... I feel like Im standing in that room looking out that window. And the scene brings me back to Laos. What a great view for a GH ! The symetry of the lines and the canoes in the center also make this a succesful image. Well Done. The river is a bit blown out of-course, but the window and the tree are probably more important to the eye.... Brian
