Photographer’s Note
This mill is called the "unicorn" and is probably one of the most lonely ones in the country. It is namely situated in the middle of the port of Antwerp, not far from the little village of Lillo-Fort. It was originally built in 1735 in the village of Lillo-Kruisweg. In 1831 it was ransacked by the Dutch army, protected monument in 1943, damaged in 1944 by English fire and by German V-bombs. In 1957 it was luckily restored. However, the village of Lillo-Kruisweg had to dissapear for the expansion of the port of Antwerp. It was decided that the mill would be relocated, so in 1966 the mill was bought by the city of Antwerp, who dismanteled it and placed it here (on a place encircled with roads and industry... what a choice...). But anyway, the mill has been spared. A very special feature is the hull which is bent as you can see on the picture. I hope you like it.

Salut Hendrik,
Ah c'est cool de revoir tes moulins, hey 14.09 cette photo avec un ciel pareil ??? J'y crois pas ici c'est brumeux, il fait froid, il pleut... faut que je remonte en Belgique moi ! En plus de ces belles conditions la dynamique du cadrage et le decentrement sont impeccables, une fort belle photo.

Door verschillende dingen die gebeurd zijn ben ik daar niet meer gekomen, maar zeker volgend jaar ben ik daar tevinden.
Dit is uw lievelings fotografie molens, wel Hendrik ik heb er nog zitten dat u nog noot heeft gezien, maar ze zijn net onvoldoende om TE te halen.
Maar deze hier is bijzonder mooi, schitterend geplaatst met een bijzondere goede kwaliteit.
Steeds een goede nota, dit is leerrijk. Bedankt

Hi Hendrik,
it is the hull with its curve that gave me first the idea of a tilt (only in the mill). It looks like it is a bit laying in its back. The leading path is great, the mill has the right position. Clear and sharp.

Bonjour,
belle photo de ce moulin au bout du chemin entourrer d' arbres, sur de verte pature.
Jolies couleurs et bonne netteté de l' ensemble.
Beau ciel bleu comme toile de fond, cela fait bien ressortir le moulin.
